SNAP-Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program is a program that assists individuals in signing up for SNAP benefits
Ending Hunger and Improving Nutrition
The Food Assistance Division manages the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in Alabama. Its goal is to end hunger and promote good nutrition by providing monthly benefits to eligible low-income households, helping them buy the food they need for good health. Eligibility rules and benefit amounts, which depend on income and household size, are set by regulations from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service. USDA is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
M4A offers assistance with applying for these benefits.

Elderly Nutrition Program
The Elderly Nutrition Program provides nutritious meals in either a congregate setting such as a senior center or in a home setting where food is delivered directly to their home if they are homebound.
You do not have to be 60 years or older to be eligible for nutritious meals. Spouses of participants regardless of age may be eligible for meals as well as persons with a disability residing with an eligible participant. Individuals with a disability under the age of 60 living in public, low-income housing where a senior center is located are also eligible for the program
